Flying Pony Alpacas is a family of experienced business owners who have fallen in love with the alpaca lifestyle. We are an odd family for sure. We consist of professional people who were happy to give up corporate America to join the alpaca lifestyle. Bob Fish is the owner, and our biggest alpaca fan. If it "humms" and looks at him with those big eyes and puffy head he is a goner. He spends all his time on herd health and caring directly for the alpacas. Ryan and Christy Schwenk have three small children and gave up a large construction business to spend time learning, nurturing and raising their family around these wonderful animals. Jack Grebe had been at FPA almost from the start. He was responsible for assisting Bob in the initial development of the pastures, breeding and herd health from just about the beginning of the farm. Since January 2008, Jack has moved on to broaden his horizons. We wish Jack the best of luck.
"Flying Pony Alpacas - Where YOU Come First." is the mantra of everyone at Flying Pony. What is your plan? Only you can answer that question, but at FPA we have the experience and are ready to offer help with the development of your business plan. Are you interested in setting up your own alpaca farm? Perhaps you wish to improve your herd. Do you want assistance in learning about and understanding the health of your herd. You will learn this and more from our friendly staff.
How are we able to do it? With over 200 world class alpacas, 17+ award winning herdsires, a well thought out and implemented bio security plan. Herd nutrition and health programs developed under the direction of Dr. Norm Evans. Professionally taught seminars that address all facets of the industry. All this and we operate with the highest ethics in the business. Our first desire is to make every transaction with us a pleasant one.
Our personal and professional mission is fostering and promoting the highest
ethical relationship between the alpaca enthusiast and ourselves. Customer
relationship starts with pre and post sale mentoring, and educational assistance
provided with the sale of their alpacas as well as service excellence. By doing this
we hope to make the alpaca business as simple and enjoyable as possible for
anyone who wants to enjoy this lifestyle as we do.
We also know that the best way to learn about the business is through seminars
taught by professionals. So with that in mind, at Flying Pony Alpacas we are always
looking to learn new things. We feel that there is no better way to educate ourselves
and others in this market, than through a few good seminars. We have hosted a few
seminars conducted by experts such as Marty McGee, Dr. Walter Bravo , Ian Watt,
Wayne Jarvis and Andy Merriwether on topics such as reproduction, genetics, the
market and Alpacas 101. We hope to soon work with other experts in the camelid field.
Herdsire row at Flying Pony Alpacas is filled with the best of all that makes the
North American herd improve with each generation. We have a powerful mix of
full Peruvian, Bolivians, as well as a row filled with full Accoyo sons whose
genetics have been and will continue to improve the North American herd. All of
us at FPA firmly believe that the North American market is geared to surpass any
world market based on the quality of the breeding programs available.
